Hunan Garden in Sykesville

This is my boyfriend's favorite local Chinese but this was my first time trying it. We were super hungry so we ordered way too much food for take out. We got the spicy pickled Chinese cabbage (which was the most amazing thing ever), combo Singapore rice noodles (would also highly recommend), chicken egg foo young (worth trying the dish of you've never had it), and the pineapple chicken (which was just alright). We had enough for both of us to have plenty of leftovers the next day too. Was definitely satisfied with our meal and I would definitely go back.

Tried this for the first time for carryout. Good food and order was correct! I think we found our usual Chinese takeout spot! Would recommend Hunan Garden for those looking for good takeout in the area!

Good spot for a quick carryout lunch. I had the happy family lunch special and thought it was a good deal. The main dish was very good, however I wasn't a big fan of the egg roll. I would go back for the Happy Family lunch special again, but would probably choose something different then the egg roll as my side item

The BEST Chinese food! Not greasy, tastes fresh and they always get our order right. To top it off, they have absolutely wonderful staff. We love Hunan Garden!

The beef Szechuan was delicious. There is limited seating in the restaurant. The service is reasonably quick. It doesn't look like much from the outside and it doesn't look like much from the inside, but it is a nice place with good food.

Tried this for the first time Friday night due to the high rating. It was just OK. In my experience, it was small portions for the price, nothing stood out in regards to quality or flavor (Sesame Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Pepper Steak). The Egg Rolls, one of my favorite dishes were the deal breaker. I do agree that the service was great, but for a carry out the food quality is more important. I will have to continue my search for a go-to Chinese carry out.

My favorite place to get Chinese food in the area. The staff is super nice to us and the food is really tasty. I wish they had more seating though.

First time stopping in, small area for dine in, mostly a carry out restaurant. But they accomodated me and my two sons. Very friendly staff. Very good food. Great lunch prices. Will be back.

I don't get the hype...loyal local following I guess. Actually went out of our way to try them out due to all the 5 star reviews. While the personnel are friendly enough, the food is just average. None of the dishes ordered by our party stood out in any way. Also, it's not really a restaurant in the traditional sense which is what we were going for...it's a small carryout with a few tables in the front area. Wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Slightly more expensive than other Chinese food options in the area but the quality is well worth the price.

Sweet and sour chicken and chicken and cashew nuts are great. Definitely a great Chinese food place.

I could give this restaurant 555 stars!! From the moment I called till I picked my food up. My sister in law just moved to the area and has been ordering from them for a months, I had used her info to call and order food and right away they were talking to me like I was family/lifelong customer!! When we picked up the food they were so charming and nice!! Even with the contactless pick up and social distancing!! The FOOD!! OMG THE FOOD!! Besides the price being unbelievably affordable, the food... It was absolute heaven in my mouth!!!! The chicken lo mein, crispy chicken, sesame chicken, salt and pepper shrimp, combo fried rice.... I almost cried eating it IT WAS SSSSSOOOOOOOOO GOOD!! And well portioned!! I, myself live in Columbia right now and will be moving to Westminister in about a year... I don’t care if it takes me 30min or 30 hours... I will never go to another Chinese restaurant again... this place is my new place!!

Friendly, good food, reasonably priced.

Best spot in the area. The food is cooked fresh and the staff is very friendly. An example being the chicken (like the honey sesame chicken) was clearly cooked to order with a normal layer of batter (and very tasty). The other places serve chicken with a massive layer of batter, and the chicken seems stringy and tough, like it's been fried several times. Oh, and the Thai spring roles are the best I've had since living overseas.

Love this place! Been going for years. Food is always awesome. Hot and crispy shrimp and salt and pepper shrimp are excellent. My whole family has been going here for years. Very friendly people.

Without a doubt the best Chinese food in eldersburg and surrounding areas. Everything I’ve tried is amazing. Always consistent. Staff are very nice. Prices are a tiny bit higher then others in the area but the portions are huge and taste is superb. Expect to wait 35-45min for take out as this ain’t no fast food joint and they are typically mobbed!

This has become our go-to Chinese carry-out place since we moved out this way. Service is always friendly and accommodating-- much better than what I'm accustomed to with carry-outs. Their food tends to be much milder than the indicated spice level. If you're accustomed to "Medium", order Extra Spicy, lest you be treated with a mild version.Overall worth a go!
